Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire C&L East Los Angeles Insulation to do at your house or building. When you browse the site, call us, send the form or book a job, you're agreeing to them, so please read them before you schedule.
If anything here doesn't sit right with you, call us at (213) 329-0372 before we start and we'll talk it through. If a written estimate or contract we both sign says something different from this page, the signed paperwork wins for that job.
What we do
C&L East Los Angeles Insulation is an insulation contractor in East Los Angeles, CA, working in East Los Angeles and the cities around it. Our crew installs, tops up and removes insulation in attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements, and does air sealing, which means closing the gaps that let air through before the insulation goes in. We also do spray foam, vapor barriers and commercial work. You can see the full list on our home page, and you can read about who we are on our About page.
The descriptions on this site are general. What we'll actually do at your property is whatever is written on the estimate you approve.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates, and you're under no pressure to book. We come out because the price depends on things we have to see, like how much insulation is already up there and what shape it's in, how easy the attic or crawl space is to get into, how many gaps need sealing, and whether old material has to come out first.
An estimate is our price for the work it describes, based on what we could see on the day. It stays good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed and we may need to update it.
Sometimes we find something once the job is open that nobody could see beforehand, like insulation that's wet or full of droppings, damaged wiring or a leak. When that happens we stop, show you, and explain your options. We won't do extra work or add to your bill unless you approve the change first, in writing or by text or email.
Scheduling, access and cancelling
We'll set a start date with you and give you a rough idea of how long the crew will be there. Weather, material delays, a crew member getting sick or problems found on an earlier job can move the schedule. If that happens we'll tell you as soon as we know and pick a new date with you.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to an outlet and parking, as needed. Please move stored boxes out of the way and keep kids and pets clear of the work area while we're working. On spray foam jobs, we'll tell you how long everyone needs to stay out of the house before coming back in, and you agree to follow that time.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or turned other work away for your job, any cancellation charge will be written on your estimate. If it isn't written there, we won't charge one.
Payment
Your estimate shows what's due and when, including any deposit. Unless your estimate says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished and we've walked you through it.
We'll tell you which payment methods we accept when we give you the estimate. If a payment is late, we'll reach out to sort it out with you first. Unpaid balances may be referred for collection as California law allows.
Our work and what we don't promise
We're licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it. What the guarantee covers for your job, and for how long, is written on your estimate or invoice.
Insulation products carry their makers' own warranties. We'll pass along whatever the maker offers, but those warranties come from the maker and not from us.
We'll tell you honestly what we expect the work to do for your house, like a cooler upstairs or fewer drafts. We can't promise a specific drop in your power bill, because it also depends on your windows, ductwork, equipment, weather and how the house is used. Except for what's written on your estimate, invoice or guarantee, we make no other promises about the work, as far as California law allows.
The information on this website is general and may not fit your house. It isn't a substitute for having someone look at your situation in person.
Limits on our liability
As far as California law allows, C&L East Los Angeles Insulation isn't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses tied to our work or this website, such as lost income, lost use of a room or higher utility costs. This includes problems caused by conditions that already existed in the house and that we didn't create.
As far as the law allows, the most we'll owe on any claim about a job is the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing on this page limits our responsibility for damage we cause through carelessness, or anything else the law doesn't let a business limit.
If we disagree
Most problems get fixed with a phone call, so please call us first and give us a fair chance to make it right. If that doesn't settle it, we both agree to try mediation, a meeting with a neutral person who helps both sides reach an agreement, before going to court.
If mediation doesn't work, either of us can take the matter to small claims court or the courts in Los Angeles County.
Which law applies
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. The version posted here when you book a job is the one that applies to that job, along with your signed estimate. If you keep using the site after we post a change, you're agreeing to the updated terms.
